Just before I retired from Pontefract in 2001 the Wakefield/Knottingley service were shared with Belle Isle - I liked those routes. After my break one morning I was just ready to go downstairs and take over my bus to Knottingley and met the other driver coming up - disgruntled he (NOT an enthusiast) said "Huh, that's a right heap you've to take!!." He couldn't have been more wrong - as I opened the door to discover 255 in green and cream. Always anxious (for 44 years) to add new types to my experience I had accepted that I would likely never drive a Gardner engined Lynx so I was very pleased indeed. I really enjoyed the experience, although I have to say I am not a Lynx fan, and was really sorry when it was taken off at Wakefield and our Volvo put back on.

Very nice. Thanks for sharing that story.
I have very little experience with Lynxes myself too, only ever been on a couple.
