After the sale of the family owned South Yorkshire Road Transport to Caldaire in July 1994 there followed a lengthy period of fascination for enthusiasts with vehicle allocations and route changes. One particularly bizarre measure was the loan of 563 (SY103) to Dewsbury for many weeks - still of course in the original colours. It was equipped with a makeshift display for service 268 and was a regular performer between Dewsbury and Bradford to the astonishment of intending passengers !! The bus is seen here sweeping out of the Interchange. Interesting to think how nice it would have been if the powers that be had gone the whole hog and "103" had appeared in red and cream with "Yorkshire Buses" fleetnames
